SATURDAY
Some people associate the Manchester music scene with the Stone Roses. Factory Records. Oasis. I think of Take That.
The first event of the weekend played host to Jay Jay Pistolett, Beans on Toast, The Spoon and Jose Vanders (she'll be huge), here's the Spoon & Jose:
Whilst running around like a mental, Kat sneaked in someone to replace me. Yes, he might very well be Marc Riley, but if I have to, I'll fight him for the 'Paris' title
I consoled myself with the fact that in Manchester they have hair straighteners in the toilets for hire. That's progress.
Dennis Snaggle joined the party
It was only the first night, so whilst the PG boys hit the warehouse rave (and bigger boys hit on Andy Force), Kat & I went on the hunt for an early(ish) night and food.
The fact we spotted this sign after made us feel warm inside
SUNDAY
Those pesky PG boys woke us up at 5am knocking on our door for toothpaste. It's nice to know they have good oral hygiene. To apologise they provided breakfast in bed, this is Kristian
After a hearty lunch, we went on a hunt for a poster exhibition. We got very lost. We did find this magical place (that's Rob & Andy)
Ok, Sunday night was manic. We had 10 bands playing, a variety of problems (none serious) and the best freaking party in Manchester. Friendly Fires were good, Heads We Dance were ace, Duloks were entertaining and Bolt Action Five were our heroes of the night (we'll make it up to you I promise).
There are no pictures from this evening - which in retrospect is a very good thing. I did salvage this gem (press snap?)
MONDAY
So we might not have gotten up until 2pm, missed a lot of important meetings, still have been drunk, but we managed to make it to the best dinner we've had this year. Highlight came with Kristian (the staunch vegan) being presented with the raw steak platter.
Monday saw our final party, Mannequin Republic's showcase. We were joined by our friends Xcerts who helped Kat & I try and turn the emos to rave (N-Emo?)
This night also ended in a big messy heap. Party vibes.
TUESDAY
With the final PG party crew reduced from a healthy 11 down to a hardcore 5 we headed back to London. Notable snaps are Kristian serenading Manchester Piccadilly (Dreaming The Eagle, Riding The Bear) and Andy's vanity case
Dare I say it... next year anyone?
