Our good friend Penny celebrated her birthday this weekend by inviting us to the dog racing; the best night out you can have in Wimbledon in the rain.

The key is to go with the bookies outside, John White really knows his odds

There's a whole subculture to be found at the dogs, I was particulary impressed by the artwork on show


Kat had a winner of a scheme - always bet on 1 trap, that way eventually you're bound to strike big


Kat bet each race on trap 3. Alas, the scheme failed her


Dogs of any kind are in fashion


Bex and I entertained ourselfs between races by recreating the Partklife sleeve


After winning the grand total of £3.80 (on a dog named after my sister), I left feeling like a WINNER

So I thought it only polite to do a SXSW round up - I'm a week later then everyone else and I'm not sure I can still drag out the jet-lag excuse either.

Lots happened that's for sure; saw a couple of bands, ate some prime beef, did a bit of DJing, drank some beers... I also:

Stalked Jeffrey Lewis


Admired DJ's getting all Tony Hart with their equipment




Threw a party in a garage on the hottest day of the year




Figured out how to take some good band pictures at night




Perfected the drunk band picture


Admired the art of Texas' signage




Met the international beard champion, Jack Passion


Got down with the glow sticks


And ate some crocodile

Naive New Beaters...

bingo + karaoke + good times = the P.G. quiz!

The announcement that Pure Groove was going to launch a monthly quiz night was met with nothing but whoops of joy. When it let slip there'd be half time bingo, a celebrity quiz master and an optional trip to Farringdon's finest karaoke bar after hours, people actually wet themselves. Embarassing but true.
In all the excitement, I've only just found the pictures, it'd be a shame not to share them...
